On Saturday, 19th September, activists around the world held protests and actions against Ahava skin care products. The shop in London's Covent Garden was picketed by about 30 protestors. The day before the shop was occupied for nearly six hours. Actions also took place in Washington DC and Amsterdam.
The movement to boycott Israelis becoming respectable. In Europe and America as well as in the Middle East and many parts of the developing world, people of conscience β
including many Jews - are rejecting anti-Arab prejudice and Zionist mythology and seeing Israel for what it is β an ethnocentric state which deserves to be ostracised.
NEW YORK CITY β "Sex & The City" star Kristin Davis, well known for her work as a goodwill ambassador of international human rights organization Oxfam and for her lucrative spokesperson job for Israeli cosmetics company Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories, has been suspended from all publicity work by Oxfam for the duration of her contract with Ahava.
Ahava manufacture cosmetic products using minerals from the Dead Sea. The company has a factory and a visitors' center in the Israeli settlement of Mitzpe Shalem in the occupied West Bank.
34% of the company shares are held by the West Bank settlement of Kibbutz Mitzpe Shalem, 34% by Hamashbir Holdings (the investment fund ofΒ B. Gaon Holdings and the Livnat family), 18% are held by Shamrock Holdings (the investment fund of the Roy E. Disney family), andΒ 6% by the West Bank settlement of Kibbutz Kaliya.

Ahava have a shop in Covent Garden, London, which has been the target of direct action and regular protests.
On the 9th June 2009 there was a protest by Codepink, a US women's peace group, at the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv.
